It's Friday!! WOOT!!
I wanted to talk about setting goals. I have had this tank for about 5 months and when I bought it I thought I was crazy. There are two spots on my body that I am the most self conscious of: My back and my stomach. While I can thank my dad for my longs legs, I can also thank him for my tummy. haha! Sorry dad. If we want to get real personal in Junior High I was bullied and sent threatening emails about how ugly I was and how I looked like the Pillsbury dough boy. That email still haunts me. It is so sad that this world is driven by bullies. One mean word can change the way you think about yourself. Someone can tell you a thousand times that you are beautiful and once that you are ugly and somehow ugly wins.
I am turning 25 this year. *OMG I'M OLD* I really wanted to get in the best shape of my life by the time I turn 25. Let me tell you, it is no walk in the park!!
This last October (my 24th birthday) I decided to make some serious changes!
I wrote my goals down:
1) Get in shape
2) Eat Clean
3) Get a six pack by the time you turn 25. (heaven help me)
I knew if I didn't take action fast I would not go through with it. I talked with some friends and found an amazing trainer to set up a plan for me. She makes me extremely accountable and has me send progress pics every week. I followed everything to a T up until Christmas. Why is it that almost every social gathering has is delicious food!?!?! Thanks America! Anyway, I am back on track now. I would say the hardest part so far for me is #1 The weekends. It is so hard to stay eating healthy on the weekends for some reason. #2 When people say abs are made in the kitchen they aren't lying. I was hoping a stork would drop a set of abs off at my front door. :'(
I wore this tank for this shoot to see my progress. I still don't feel 100% comfortable in it. But It is so fun to see how far you have come. Maybe one day I will post my beginning pictures.
Moral of the story: Set goals. It is really satisfying to see your progress, and keeps you motivated.
Also telling people, and writing it down also makes you more accountable.
Excuse me while I go look at dessert on Pinterest and cry. Just kidding. I think.
